Wednesday, October 9 7:30 AM
Details
Are you someone who leads (or is seeking to lead) in business, family, and social areas of your life using biblical knowledge and a dedication to continued spiritual formation and personal growth? If so, this series is for you!

Over the course of 7 sessions, you will be introduced to the basic tenants of servant leadership and discipleship according to the Holy Bible, the teachings of Jesus Christ, and research from biblical scholars. Through facilitated discussion with guest speakers with relevant expertise, you will have the opportunity to interactively debate the ways to navigate life’s demands as a leader at home, in business, as a mentor, and as an influential partner in personal relationships to develop trust, wisdom, and tools for godly impact on those around you. Our guest speakers will relate the latest research and/or professional experiences to guide you through biblical leadership fundamentals.

These sessions will help you develop a foundational understanding of the role of godly leaders in dealing with fear, doubt, self-esteem, failure, discouragement, and pain. From this foundation, you will begin to learn from the Bible and other attendees the critical aspects of maintaining courage in adversity, wisdom in uncertainty, and perspective in devastation. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we pray that you and other attendees will encourage each other through practical hope, discuss applicable experiences and outcomes, and create action plans for improvement and further discovery for growth as leaders and disciple-makers.

This course will develop a biblical model for servant leadership by critiquing, synthesizing, and applying the leadership examples from biblical texts through practical applications from guest speakers. To demonstrate this understanding, attendees will:
  1. Formulate a self-exploratory inventory of his or her own strengths and weaknesses.
  2. Examine the cultural and circumstantial contexts of the leaders in the biblical era.
  3. Identify the interpersonal and circumstantial challenges faced by each leader and apply this discussion to selective leadership issues.
  4. Discover leadership achievements within each subject, and determine timeless principles which apply these examples to contemporary settings.
  5. Create action plans for improvement for review with an accountability partner and/or mentor.

Each session will include discussion time for smaller groups, either in breakouts or at tables, with facilitating questions to encourage relationships to organically form.
